Cherylyn Lavagnino Dance will present the World Premiere of Ménage, a piece that references the distortion and beauty of Edward Degas’ ballet sculptures. Degas’ ballerinas are not weightless, elegant or elongated; they are weighty, off balance, and out of alignment in fascinating and kinesthetically engaging ways. Ménage features an original score for piano and violin by co-composers Scott Killian, Jacob Lawson, and Jane Chung, who will perform the score live in concert. The company will also present the quartet 3 four 1 and Snap Shots. The Season will be shared with fellow contemporary ballet company Dances Patrelle.
